Updated Policy Brief on housing

The Centre’s Policy Brief on housing has been updated to include the latest house price statistics and various Government initiatives.

House price inflation peaked at 16% in the year to the first quarter of 2022.   In the year to the second quarter of 2023 prices fell by 1.3%. Similarly, the rate of increase in rents peaked at 12.2% in the year to the first quarter of 2022 and has subsequently fallen to 2.4% in the year to the second quarter of 2023.  

The Housing Minister has raised the income thresholds for the assisted home ownership policy and widened access to social housing.
